“ Maximizing Potential Through
Individual Attention”

- Pre K to Adult -

What is the Orton-Gillingham Approach?

The Orton-Gillingham approach is made up of components that ensure that students are not only
able to use learned strategies, but can also explain the how and why of phonological strategies.
This instructional approach encourages students by seeing, saying, sounding, and writing letters to
master decoding and encoding of words. The Orton-Gillingham approach emphasizes multisensory
learning, which combines sight, hearing, touch, and movement. This approach works
well for students with dyslexia who lack a basic level of phonemic awareness.

Orton Gillingham or
Structured Literacy Tutoring
with Progress Monitoring

Orton Gillingham specifically addresses the learning needs of students with a language‐based learning disability, such as dyslexia, or who have word-level deficits and have not mastered the reading (decoding) and spelling (encoding) process.

Our Learning Specialists are trained to deliver direct, explicit instruction in the areas of reading and spelling. We offer lessons using research-proven methods that are personally tailored to meet each student’s individual needs. Moreover, we carefully monitor students’ progress, offering continual feedback and encouragement throughout the lesson. Your child's grades, and confidence will improve.

Academic Coaching

As an Academic Coach, we can meet and check on your child’s weekly goals, go through academic assignments, break down assignments in smaller manageable parts, prioritize assignments, as well as explore life goals to build motivation. If you feel your child needs a little extra organizational or motivational push, we can assist.
